Event Description:
Jan Hench of McCoole’s At The Historic Red Lion Inn and McCoole’s Arts & Events Place announces the opening of The Main Street Gallery in Quakertown, PA. An artist reception is scheduled for Saturday, November 4 from 3 – 8 pm. Located at the corner of Broad and Main Streets across from The Historic Red Lion Inn, the newly renovated space will feature the work of Upper Bucks County artist Jim Lukens, an impressionist oil painter, along with a select few of the area's prominent working artists. In addition, the work of students from Lukens’ painting classes, held in McCoole's Arts & Events Studio gallery, will debut. “We are excited to enhance the arts in Uptown Quakertown,” said Hench. “This gallery is a welcome addition to an area that already houses a historic restaurant, arts and events venue, the Quakertown Historical Society, Bucks County Visitor Center, Upper Bucks Chamber of Commerce, Richland Library (the third oldest library in Bucks County), Richland Friends Meeting (circa 1730), Liberty Hall, Burgess Foulke House, and other buildings dating back to the 1700's.” she concluded. “As blessed as we are with the beauty of our river towns and a robust county seat of Doylestown, Upper Bucks holds a wellspring of vistas and byways to explore with a rich history to match,” said Lukens. From Lake Nockamixon and Haycock to Springtown and Liberty Hall, Jim's focus will take advantage of a confluence of Bucks and Montgomery, Berks, Lehigh and Northampton counties. Angled at a prominent view, the site offers up a stunning "welcome" to visitors from all four directions. Parking will be available at all of McCoole's venues, or at the Upper Bucks Visitor Center, 21 N Main Street (1/2 block north of McCoole’s).
