Updating and utilizing the amphitheater at the Park at Fourth is a key component to the Borough’s overall revitalization plan, which has already helped stimulate the local economy by attracting new businesses and developers. “Quakertown Borough Council and Administration are grateful to the generosity Univest Bank and Trust Co. is demonstrating with their involvement in sponsoring the new amphitheater in our Park at Fourth. This type of collaboration between private and public enhances the quality of our community, brings cultural dimension to our parks system, and works to keep the costs for the park improvements out of the borough’s operating budget,” said Quakertown council president Donald Rosenberger. “The Borough is committed to providing our community and surrounding area with top-shelf entertainment at the Univest Performance Center.” Last year, the Sounds of Summer Concert Series was introduced and immediately attracted thousands of concert goers for its three performances. This year, with Univest’s support, the series has grown, and the Borough is eager to capitalize on this underused property. The Borough is confident that the Univest Performance Center will further help promote tourism, drive awareness of downtown businesses, encourage a local sense of community, and further establish Quakertown as a destination point. “Univest Bank and Trust Co. is thrilled to be part of the exciting revitalization taking place in Quakertown,” said Mike Keim, president, Univest Bank and Trust Co. “For 142 years, Univest has been committed to supporting the local communities we serve. Uniting neighbors, friends and family while experiencing arts and culture will undoubtedly bring our community closer together. We look forward to a summer filled with great entertainment, fellowship and fun.” For more information on the Sounds of Summer Concert Series, contact the Quakertown Borough’s Parks & Recreation Department at 215-536-5001 or email concerts@quakertown.org.
