The Quakertown Farmers Market proudly announces the winner of the 2018 Young Community Activist Award, Kaitlyn Irons. The Young Community Activist Award is given to a college bound senior with a concentration in the arts and who has met or exceeded certain academic requirements, who exemplify respect, responsibility, character, sacrifice and has contributed back to the community. This year, Kaitlyn Irons, met and exceeded all the requirements and was awarded the $2,000 Scholarship. She plans to attend West Chester University in the Fall. Kaitlyn has a great passion for helping others through art and wants to help others understand the “art” of human interaction. Kaitlyn said, “As a young girl, my family and I frequented the Quakertown Farmers Market. Whether we were searching for the newest super hero comic book, buying old records, or eating a pickle on a stick, my family’s love for the Market accentuates the scholarship’s importance to me.”
