PTW EVENTS AUTUMN EVENTS LANSDALE, PA- The Physical Therapy & Wellness Center (PTW) remains dedicated to their mission of educating and assisting the community by holding several different educational workshops and talks throughout the year. October is National Physical Therapy month and so PTW has put together three separate public talks in our clinics to highlight different accomplishments and to educate the communities that we serve. Our first event will take place on Thursday October 4th from noon until 1:30 PM at our newest location in Horsham. This event is co-hosted by the Eastern Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and will celebrate the grand opening of PTW’s ninth location in Horsham located on Horsham Road next to the Farm & Fisherman. Community members will be in attendance to assist in a ribbon cutting as well as light refreshments and tours. PTW Horsham is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment such as the AlterG, an anti-gravity treadmill which allows users to walk or run up to twenty percent of their body weight. Free trials of the AlterG will be offered throughout the event. Coming together with Rothman Institute, PTW presents Food & Facts: How to Avoid Joint Placements on Tuesday October 9th at PTW Horsham. Dr. Kevin Freedman will be providing free education and information on cartilage restoration. Cartilage restoration is a procedure where a patient’s knee is resurfaced, realigned and stabilized thereby avoiding a joint replacement. Light fare will be provided to all in attendance. To supplement PTW’s #ChoosePT campaign which focuses on the opioid epidemic in America, PTW will offer an Alternatives to Pain Management talk on Thursday October 18th from 6:00pm until 7:30 pm at PTW Harleysville in Salford Square. The event is a collaboration with Dr. Mergaman of Delaware Valley Pain & Spine, and Kimberly Smith Niezgoda of Acupuncture Place. Attendees will be exposed to discussion about how physical therapy, medical marijuana, acupuncture, and more are all alternatives to addictive pain killers as well as a free light dinner. To cap off PTW’s Autumn line up, special guest Dr. Jonathan Rosenfeld from Pennsylvania Hand Center (Tower Health) will be at PTW West Norriton located just off Trooper Road on Thursday November 8th from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM. Dr. Rosenfeld joins us to discuss common procedures for hand surgery to give patients and idea of the different treatments available for their pain. All PTW events are open to the public and attendees are encouraged to RSVP by going to PTWInstitute.com/events and filling out a quick form so that the events are properly staffed and enough food is provided!
