On Thursday, October 19 the Quakertown Dental Office gave Officer Robert Lee and the Quakertown Borough Police a donation of $3,864.00 for their children’s “Shop with a Cop” program. Earlier this year; March through June, Dr. Michael Bonomo, the Quakertown Dental Office and Red Hill Dental Office teamed with the nonprofit – Smiles for Life Foundation and for a donation they provided their patients a teeth whitening service. Opalescence donated all the products and the staff donated their time. Of the donations collected, half are given to the Smiles for Life Foundation and their children’s charities, and half are given to a children’s charity of our choice. Dr. Michael Bonomo, Dr. Abhishek Patel and the Quakertown Dental Office staff were excited to be able to give back to our community and to this children’s charity. Shop with a Cop is a charitable event which pairs local police officers with children from Quakertown Community School District who are faced with life challenges such as homelessness, economic shortcomings, military deployment, and other hardships. The event is run by volunteers, and volunteer police officers of Quakertown Borough and Richland Township At the event, children will be paired with a police officer and they will have the opportunity to shop for gifts for their family members and themselves. Shop with a Cop was developed in December 2011 with 14 children, and due to the community support, has grown to over 65 children in 2017.
