Penn Community Bank is proud to announce that it has been honored with the 2017 Talent Development Award from the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Association for Talent Development (ATD), in recognition of an innovative online game it developed to train team members on the bank’s products. Presented at ATD’s holiday program in Allentown on Dec. 7, 2017, the award in the Talent Development Innovation category honors Penn Community Bank’s “Plinko” program, an in-house initiative used to increase morale and build teamwork. With the help of the IT department, the bank’s Training and Development team developed a virtual version of the “Plinko” game from the Price Is Right. The game incentivized retail bank employees to learn about Penn Community Bank’s products and equip them with the knowledge to communicate with potential customers. After its three-week run, the “Plinko” program achieved its objectives and the bank saw an increase in consumer and business referrals. “We are thrilled to be honored by ATD,” said Sandra Ziegler, Director of Training, Education and Development at Penn Community Bank. “The success of this program is really owed to our IT team and talent development team, including Mike Kirschman and Christine Jefferson.” The Association for Talent Development (ATD) is the world’s largest association dedicated to those who develop talent in organizations. ATD's members come from more than 120 countries and work in private and public organizations in every industry sector.
