Event Description: Wine lovers can taste the newest, fruitiest varieties of wine during the Bucks County Wine Trail’s annual Nouveau event the weekend of Nov. 12-13. Nouveau wines are bottled young with little aging, offering light and sweet tastes. As is tradition in the Beaujolais region of France, the Bucks County wineries offer their own Nouveau from harvest. Buckingham Valley Vineyards, Crossing Vineyards and Winery, New Hope Winery, Rushland Ridge Vineyards and Winery and Sand Castle Winery are offering Nouveau wine tastings during the event. Here’s a look at what each of the wineries is planning: • Buckingham Valley Vineyards and Winery will pair its homemade onion bread – a French tradition - with its lightly sweet Nouveau wine. The winery’s limited supplies are generally gone before Christmas, according to Kevin Forest. The winery may also offer live music, depending on weather. Hours: Saturday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday noon to 5 p.m. • Crossing Vineyards and Winery will offer a specialty pairing of its Le Nouveau 2016 with cheeses, cured meats and chocolates for $20. Live music is planned for Nov. 12 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Hours: Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. • New Hope Winery will be open Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. • Rushland Ridge Vineyard and Winery will offer tastings of its freshly fermented grape juice from the 2016 harvest. This young and fruity wine is often served with the season’s holiday meals. Hours: Saturday noon to 6 p.m.; Sunday noon to 4 p.m. • Sand Castle Winery will release its new vintage wine of 2016 on Nov. 12. On Nov. 13 the winery will offer a bonfire celebration, a unique event where adults can feel like kids. Sausage, hot dogs, marshmallows and more will be roasted over the fire from 1-4 p.m. Hours: Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
