The facility, which delivers comprehensive 24/7 heart care services, is now fully operated by Grand View Health Grand View Health is introducing a new operational structure today that will strengthen its David M. Flowers Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and the comprehensive, 24/7 heart care that the lab provides to its patients. Effective 12 am, August 15, 2023, Grand View Health will assume full operational responsibility of the cardiac catheterization lab at the Sellersville Hospital. The Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Grand View Hospital has been providing 24/7/365 care for heart patients since November 2019, services were provided in partnership with Lehigh Valley Health Network. “While we value our long-term partnership with Lehigh Valley, by bringing the day-to-day operation of the David M. Flowers Cardiac Catheterization Lab in-house, we’re strengthening our commitment to delivering the most advanced care possible while using the resources available within our community,” said Douglas Hughes, MBA, BSN, RN, President and Chief Executive Officer at Grand View Health. J. Doyle Walton, MD, a board-certified and fellowship-trained interventional cardiologist, will serve as Medical Director of the Cath Lab. Dr. Walton also practices with Grand View Health Cardiology – Alderfer and Travis. He will be joined by board-certified, fellowship-trained interventional cardiologist Daniel Tsyvine, MD, in performing procedures within the Cath Lab. Dr. Tsyvine recently joined the staff at Grand View Health Cardiology – Buxmont, formerly known as Buxmont Cardiology Associates. As part of this transition, Grand View Health will now have full operational responsibility for its Cath Lab, which delivers expert and rapid care for both emergency and scheduled cardiac procedures. “When a blocked artery reduces blood flow to the heart, patients require expert care, and oftentimes, time is of the essence,” added Michael Prasto, MD, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Grand View Health. “Our Cath Lab helps to ensure that people in Bucks and Montgomery counties won’t have to travel far from home in order to receive the highest-quality heart care from skilled interventional cardiologists.” The David M. Flowers Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory is located on the campus of Grand View Hospital in Sellersville. It’s named in honor of David Flowers, MD., a respected area cardiologist who passed away in 2003 at age 48 after a courageous battle with cancer. The lab began 24/7 operations in November 2019 and is accredited by Corazon, Inc., a national leader in services for the cardiovascular specialty.
