The Quakertown Farmers Market is joining forces with the Red Cross for a Blood Drive on Sunday, September 1st from 10am-3pm. The Bloodmobile will be parked outside Entrance #18, near the Garden Center. Appointments are preferred, but not needed. You can register online at redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: qmart or call 1-800- RED CROSS. All blood types are needed. Be a hero, donate a pint and save a life! The Quakertown Farmers Market’s 24th Annual Winter Coat Drive kicked off on Friday, September 13th and goes until Sunday, October 13th. The Market is asking everyone to clean out their closets of gently used coats that are no longer needed. Gently used coats that are clean and still in good repair can be brought to the Market Office, located at Exit #4. All coats collected will go to our local Salvation Army to help our needy neighbors stay warm this Winter. Thank you for your donations! Together, we can make a difference! The Market is once again joining with Rite Aid to hold a Flu Shot Clinic on Saturday, September 21st from 11am-3pm. The Clinic will be in Dept. #353A near Entrance #10. No Appointments are necessary, and the flu shot is free with most insurance coverages. Customers simply need to have their current health insurance ID card with them at time of service. Flu shot co-pays are covered under most insurance plans including Aetna, Signa, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Tri-Care, Caremark as well as Medicare Part B. The CDC recommends everyone that is six months older to get a flu shot. Saturday, September 28th is the Quakertown Farmers Market Fall Festival. Join us for FREE Fall Fun with a Hay Maze, Pumpkin Patch & Decorating, Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest and Best Baker Contest. Plus, kids can visit with alpacas, chicken from the Bucks Clucks Poultry Club, Pigs from the Pig Placement Network and more! Adults and kids can enjoy music, demonstrations, and food samples. Bakers 16 and older can enter the contest for Best Apple Pie or Best Apple Crumble (Crisp). Entries will be judged on Flavor, Texture, Outside Characteristics, Originality and Process.
